LIBERATE YOUR SHOULDERS, EASE YOUR NECK: A Forrest Yoga-Inspired Workshop

Do you live with habitual tightness in your shoulders and tension in your neck? Do often finish yoga class feeling more bound up than when you began? Then this is the workshop for you!

We will begin this workshop with a number of experiential anatomy and Pilates-based exercises to release tension and align the upper back, neck and shoulders. Moving into a healing Forrest Yoga sequence, you will learn how to create strength in your mid-back and spinal muscles as you release deep tension in the neck and shoulders. Using your deep diaphragmatic breath as a tool, you will gain new awareness, strength and self-confidence to do your yoga practice in a way that feels supportive to your healing process.

You will leave this workshop with newfound freedom in your neck and shoulders and a handout detailing several movement progressions to bring flexibility and strength to your shoulders and comfort to your neck.

Please note the room will be heated to 80 degrees to generate a cleansing sweat.

EMBODYING SPIRIT: A Level 2-3 Forrest Yoga Workshop

  • Time: 2:30-5pm

  • Location: Namaste Rockridge in Oakland

Does your yoga practice brighten or dim your Spirit? In this 2.5 hour workshop, you will experience your own innate power to move dull, stuck, stagnant energy and learn to make a choice to do your yoga in a way that brightens you. How? By choosing, moment to moment, to breathe in a way that amps up your glow; to do your poses in a way that invites your Spirit to permeate into ALL of your body. Kristin will kick-off the workshop with an earth-based Four Directions Ceremony, followed by an invigorating Forrest Yoga pranayama and asana practice. The room will be heated, so get ready to generate a cleansing sweat.


This is a Level 2-3 class. Students must have taken a minimum of 20 Forrest or Vinyasa Flow classes to participate. Bring your water bottle and an extra mat.

BACKPACKING AND FORREST YOGA RETREAT IN YOSEMITE!

 

I am delighted to announce that I will be teaming up with Back to Earth Outdoor Adventures and Organic Catering on a backpacking and Forrest Yoga retreat to Yosemite National Park, from the evening of Thursday July 15th to Sunday afternoon the 18th.

We'll head out on a lesser traveled route into the majestic mountains and set up a comfortable backcountry camp with nature as our backdrop. Morning and afternoon yoga sessions in these expansive locations will fill you with serenity and inspiration. Back to Earth's gourmet backcountry cuisine will tantalize your taste buds. This will be a trip you will never forget!
