Greetings
Forrest Yogis and Pilates Aficianados!
Last
month was non-stop action for me in my personal life, what with
a bevy of houseguests, an emergency root canal, a last-minute trip
to the East Coast to honor my Grandma's passing, and a weekend
of assisting my beloved yoga teacher Ana Forrest at Yoga Tree.
Although I received many gifts of insight during these intense
times, I can't tell you what a relief it has been this last week
to see you all again and be in my regular routine. I love my students!
Thank you for all your kind words and thoughts; I really do appreciate
it.
On a professional
note, I've got in goin' on, so to speak. I'd like to take this
opportunity to share a couple of 'wins' with you all:
1.) Did you
see my quotes in the current issue of Yoga Journal? I am featured
in an article about using the clothesline to dry clothes as a conscious
choice to help conserve energy. Oftentimes it feel daunting to
me, but I am committed to continuing to learn about all the ways
I
can
help heal the earth, and doing what I can each day to cut down
on landfill waste and conserve our precious resources. I'm inspired
by the words of my teacher Ana, "Instead of focusing on all
that you can't do or control, ask yourself, 'What is one thing
I CAN do today?" I would love to learn what YOU are doing
to 'go green'. Find me on FACEBOOK and
let me know.
2.) I am so
honored to have been chosen as a 2010-2011 Lululemon
Ambassador for the Berkeley store. As a part of my role as Ambassador, I am
offering a FREE Pilates Mat class during the YOGA IN THE PARK event
on June 12th at Willard Park in Berkeley. The event starts at 11:30
and ends at 5:30; join me from 4:30-5:30 for a delightful, fun,
spirited Pilates Stretching and Core Workout!
Hope to see
you in class sometime soon!
In gratitude
for each and every one of you, my teachers,
Kristin

BACKPACKING
AND FORREST YOGA RETREAT IN YOSEMITE!
I am delighted
to announce that I will be teaming up with Back
to Earth Outdoor Adventures and Organic Catering on a backpacking
and Forrest Yoga retreat to Yosemite National Park, from the evening
of Thursday July 15th to Sunday afternoon the 18th. We'll head
out on a lesser traveled route (5.5 miles in from the parking lot)
into the majestic mountains and set up a comfortable backcountry
camp with nature as our backdrop. Morning and afternoon yoga sessions
in these expansive locations will fill you with serenity and inspiration.
Back to Earth's gourmet backcountry cuisine will tantalize your
taste buds. This will be a trip you will never forget!
This trip
is limited to 11 participants and will sell out, so sign up soon
to reserve your place! For more information or to register, click here.
QUOTE
OF THE MONTH
"Use
this question as a barometer for making life decisions: 'Does this
brighten or dim my spirit?' Choose what brightens you." -
